Workshop Description

How can we design effective, engaging, and meaningful Project-Based Learning experiences?

Highly interactive by design, this workshop balances work-time with engaging didactics, activities, facilitated discussions, protocols, and iterative development in order to deepen understanding of the fundamentals of Project-Based Learning. Teachers will apply a design process to ideate a Project-Based Learning experience to use in the classroom.

The training supports the ideation of a usable, peer-reviewed Project-Based Learning experience that participants may implement in their classrooms.

What You'll Learn & Do

  • Build common language around the characteristics of PBL and explore the difference between "Projects" and PBL.
     

  • Assess sample projects using clear criteria for high-quality Project-Based Learning.
     

  • Apply an intuitive design process to create an original project that can be implemented beyond the workshop.
     

  • Participate in one or more tuning protocols to give and receive feedback to improve work in progress.
     

  • Review free and useful resources.
